Since 1 January 2026, Grand Canyon is one of 11 national parks where visitors who are not U.S. residents pay an extra $100 per person aged 16 and older. It applies on tours too, and most tour prices do not include it.

U.S. residents pay what they paid last year. For them the 2026 news is the opposite: fee-free days are now theirs alone.

The quick answer

A private vehicle costs $35 for 7 days, a person on foot or bike $20. Non-U.S. residents aged 16+ add $100 each, unless they hold the $250 non-resident America the Beautiful pass, and that applies on commercial tours. Of the tours on this site, only the full-day tour lists the entrance fee as included. Entrance stations take cards only.

How much does it cost to enter the Grand Canyon in 2026?

$35 per private vehicle, $30 per motorcycle and $20 per person on foot or bike, each valid for 7 days. A Grand Canyon annual pass is $70.

These are the standard rates on the park's fee page. They cover the South Rim and the North Rim. Children under 16 enter free.

Who pays the $100 nonresident fee?

Every visitor aged 16 or older who is not a U.S. resident, unless they hold an annual or America the Beautiful pass. It started on 1 January 2026.

The NPS nonresident fee page lists the 11 parks: Acadia, Bryce Canyon, Everglades, Glacier, Grand Canyon, Grand Teton, Rocky Mountain, Sequoia and Kings Canyon, Yellowstone, Yosemite and Zion. The $100 is per person and comes on top of the normal entrance fee.

Residency is checked with a U.S. passport, a U.S. state or territory driver's license or ID, or a Permanent Resident card. Grand Canyon's fee page says the fee applies to commercial tour groups as well, so a tour seat does not get you around it.

Is the $250 non-resident pass worth it?

Yes, for three or more non-residents in one vehicle, or for two people visiting a second park on the list. For one person at one park, pay the $100.

The non-resident America the Beautiful pass covers the whole vehicle, or the passholder plus three additional adults, at every national park for a year. Two adults doing Grand Canyon alone pay $200 in nonresident fees plus entry. Add Zion or Bryce Canyon on the same trip and the pass is already cheaper.

On a tour, only the passholder plus three adults are covered, so a family of five non-resident adults still pays $100 for the fifth. Our price guide runs the full sum for the Hummer tour.

Which Grand Canyon tour prices include the park fee?

Only the full-day tour lists the entrance fee as included. The Hummer and safari tours include entry for U.S. residents; the dinner tour charges it on site.

Read the exclusions on each listing. Here is how the eight tours on this site describe it, with the nonresident fee on top in every case.

Which fee-free days are left in 2026?

27 October and 11 November 2026. They apply to U.S. citizens and residents only; everyone else pays as normal.

The park lists eight fee-free days in 2026. Two are still ahead: 27 October (Theodore Roosevelt's birthday) and 11 November (Veterans Day). The NPS rule for 2026 is plain: fee-free days are only for U.S. residents, and non-residents pay the entrance fee and the nonresident fee as normal.

A fee-free day saves the $35 car fee, not a tour price. Expect busier viewpoints.

Can I pay the Grand Canyon entrance fee in cash?

Not at the gate. All three entrance stations take cards only. In Tusayan you can pay cash at the IMAX Visitor Center and a few other outlets.

The park's fee page says the South, Desert View and North Rim entrance stations do not accept cash. It lists cash sales in Tusayan at the IMAX Visitor Center, Canyon Plaza Resort, Red Feather Lodge, Pink Jeep Tours and Westwind Air.

On a tour, have a card ready for the nonresident fee and cash for the tip. Gratuities are excluded on every tour here.
